Odell Beckham to Rams Giants’ stance: ‘You don’t quit on talent’… but not ruling out trade

Could Odell Beckham Jr.’s offseason home near Hollywood become his permanent residence

The Los Angeles Rams have inquired about trading for the Giants star, as first reported by the Daily News and confirmed by other outlets. Other NFL teams are sure to pick up the phone as well after Giants co-owner John Mara declared no players on the roster untouchable.

But Giants general manager Dave Gettleman skirted or declined to answer specific Beckham trade and holdout questions it at the NFL Annual Meeting. He started his press briefing Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting by reading a statement.

You don’t quit on talent, Gettleman said in his most revealing answer.

When pressed by a reporter to publicly commit to Beckham as a long-term Giant, Gettleman kept repeating He is on our team. He praised Beckham for working his fanny off.

Gettleman said he has not talked to Beckham about the seven-second video that showed Beckham in bed with what looked like drugs.

I haven’t had the opportunity, Gettleman said.

The lack of communication could be interpreted as a freeze-out or a bad sign from Gettleman and Giants co-owner John Mara. Coach Pat Shurmur met with Beckham in Los Angeles.

NFL tampering rules prohibit teams from talking about players on other teams, but Cheap Raider Jerseys Rams coach Sean McVay faced questions about Beckham and hypothetical trades for top wide receiver talent.

I think if there is one thing that you can appreciate about what we’ve done this offseason and the way we look at our organization, McVay said, (it) is there’s no trade we wouldn’t explore if we feel it can upgrade us as a team.

It’s what we expected, manager Alex Cora said. We know how special they can be.

Hanley Ramirez and Mookie Betts each hit his first home run of the season for the Red Sox, who doubled their season total. They scored 10 runs in their first four games but are 4-1 because they’ve allowed only 12 runs.

The stingy pitching has come with three starters on the disabled list, including Cheap San Francisco Giants Jerseys Drew Pomeranz, a 17-game winner in 2017.
