Derrick Rose’s agent B.J. Armstrong insisted the three-time NBA All-Star wants to stay with the Knicks, despite being included in trade negotiations.
Rose was traded by the Bulls in June but the former MVP point guard has not completely convinced people in New York, having angered Knicks officials when he missed last month’s loss to the Pelicans without informing the team.
The 28-year-old Chicago native was subject to trade interest before the deadline, but Armstrong reiterated Rose’s desire to remain at Madison Square Garden.
The consensus among front office executives who discussed the matter with USA TODAY Sports this week was that his draft stock won’t be harmed by his father’s controversial style. As one general manager put it, and many other executives confirmed in various forms when consulted on the matter, “No one’s paying attention to Ball’s father.”

Others don’t see the harm.
