Amos’s 99-yard fumble return helps Villanova beat Maine 31-0

Freshman Jaquan Amos returned a fumble 99 yards for a score and the Villanova defense forced six turnovers in a 31-0 victory over Maine on Saturday.

Amos’s TD was the third 99-yard fumble return in FCS history and the first since 2006. Keeling Hunter forced Maine’s Drew Belcher to fumble on the Villanova 3, Amos picked it up on the 1 and ran untouched for the score.

When asked on Saturday whether he accepted money, Quinerly responded: “I have no comment.”

His lawyer didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Martin Frk had the lone goal in regulation for the Red Wings, who got 37 saves from Jimmy Howard.

“I think Jimmy’s been real solid,” Detroit coach Jeff Blashill said. “I think we’ve done a pretty good job of not giving up high, high-end chances. We’ve given NFL Jerseys Nike up a number of shots, but I think we’ve battled in front of our net.”

Dion Phaneuf scored for Ottawa, which dropped its second straight game in a shootout. Craig Anderson made 29 saves.

“That was one of the best goaltending duels I’ve seen in a long time, it was NHL Jerseys Wholesale absolutely ridiculous,” Ottawa coach Guy Boucher said. “Both goalies didn’t want to budge so basically it took the entire game for both goaltenders to give one. That’s the story of the game.”

From a player-personnel perspective, he also wanted to get a good look at first-round draft picks Dylan Strome and Clayton Keller — along with new acquisitions Jason Demers, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Derek Stepan.
