NFL free agency: Jeremy Maclin leaves Bills, visiting Ravens next

NFL teams have been talking with Jeremy Maclin after his surprising release from the Chiefs, most notably the Bills.

The receiver visited Buffalo early this week but also was going to interview with the Ravens, according to ESPN.

No, the Jets have not yet figured out what to do for the long term at quarterback, and first-year offensive coordinator John Morton might be joining a lame-duck coaching staff. But the vast majority of New York’s offseason moves signal a transition to a new era.

Granted, they also prompt the kind of pessimism that has many predicting a regression from a 5-11 season in 2016. One NFL executive even called this Jets team the worst roster he’s seen in a decade.

With the likes of Nick Mangold, Darrelle Revis, David Harris, Brandon Marshall Very Cheap Jerseys and Eric Decker gone, a youth movement is evident. Here’s a position-by-position breakdown of what’s left on New York’s roster.

This means Maclin didn’t secure an on-the-spot deal with the Bills, or has decided to keep his options open. Or perhaps a mixture of both.

And while Buffalo does have more cap space, therefore money to offer Maclin, the Ravens have had a much better record in recent years.
